Years ago, we set out to fix what was broken at the library. It’s not perfect, and there’s still a great deal of work remaining. However, Lafayette citizens should be extremely proud of the progress the library has made since cleaning house. We couldn’t be more proud of such a fantastic success story, and the great many volunteers who aligned to make it all happen.
Even so, the crazies have returned for another round… Instead the same old a group of crazies have re-emerged under a new moniker (and misnomer) “supporters of the library.” If this crowd wants the October 9th library tax renewal to fail, they should just keep talking. They’ve projected a position onto me and this organization and then attacked us for that position. The truth is, the library’s income and expense were rightsized a few years ago. The new board continues to work diligently to eliminate unnecessary expenses. Add to that the library’s programs have been completely depoliticized.
These are a few of the successes the library should be talking about to drown out the shills and self-identified “supporters” who are doing more harm than good.

Don’t just sit there, do something!
Citizens for a New Louisiana is the only organization in Louisiana dedicated to reforming local government. With the help of numerous volunteers we are making some progress. However, there’s much more work we could be doing. Making a difference will take a little more than reading an article every now and then. Your community doesn’t need another spectator. They need someone willing to step onto the field and become a real part of the solution.
