Family Court Judge, Charlie Fitzgerald, has recently been elected unopposed to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals. There are three candidates vying to take his place. Here’s Dona Renegar.
The group that started the hubbub over in Lafayette Parish is called Citizens for a New Louisiana. And I know the players. And I had been monitoring who’s involved in all of this.
Citizens for a New Louisiana has been systematically placing conservatives on volunteer commissions such as the Lafayette Parish Library Board of Control and Bayou Vermilion District, where they now have majority control.
Mr Lunsford’s appeal prompted the parish library director to move the [erotic] book[s] from teen nonfiction sections to adult nonfiction sections
Citizens for a New Louisiana says the goal ... is to protect kids from ... smut in the library.
Citizens for a New Louisiana is keeping a close eye on how current library board members are voting. If that makes current members fearful, Lunsford says, that's the point.
