In our continuing series of candidates who will appear on the November 3rd ballot, I visited with Don Landry. He’s running for District Attorney in the 15th Judicial District.
In Louisiana, the movement [to remove or reshelve sexually explicit books] started in Lafayette in 2021 when ... the conservative nonprofit Citizens for a New Louisiana filed an objection.
[Citizens for a New Louisiana] is very well organized.
Citizens for a New Louisiana [is] the same group behind the conservative takeover of the Lafayette library board.
The group that started the hubbub over in Lafayette Parish is called Citizens for a New Louisiana. And I know the players. And I had been monitoring who’s involved in all of this.
The whole area is being controlled by a political group called Citizens for a New Louisiana.
