Parents SHOCKED by library “children’s” book
When a very attentive Livingston Parish mom took her pre-teen girls to their local library she was SHOCKED by one of the books her girls opened and then quickly closed. “Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see.”
Derelict and Dangerous
Crime continues to be a problem for Downtown Lafayette despite a recent 50% property tax hike, an extra 1% sales tax, and an extra 2% occupancy tax. According to one police officer, not only have multiple safety suggestions been completely ignored, but for making the suggestions he’s now been forbidden from working downtown!
Not the role of government
Should government resources be used to pick winners? It took Louisiana Department of Health months to respond to our records requests about doing just that. While certain bureaucrats in LDH were using the state agency’s voice to blatantly promote a political agenda, many legislators and even top bureaucrats inside the department were asking “what does this have to do with healthcare?” The short answer is: nothing.
Livingston Parish Library Update
The tremendous amount of unnecessary, negative attention directed at the Livingston Parish Library is the result of a compounding series bad decisions. Thankfully, and based on an in-person visit to Livingston Parish to inspect Live Oak Middle School’s library inventory, these problems appear to be isolated to the public library system only. Said again for emphasis: the Livingston middle school libraries appear to be free of this erotic material.
It’s time to Protect Children from the Louisiana Department of Health
The Louisiana Department of Health’s response to the covid pandemic has largely been an uncritical regurgitation of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance, which to this point — two and half years in — has been not only incredibly inaccurate, inept, and devoid of scientific rationale, but harmful to people’s physical and mental health.
A vow to transparency?
Our attempts to acquire law enforcement agreements with the federal government were rebuffed by the City-Parish of Lafayette. “You can’t have” the agreements that offer money to us for spying on our citizens (on the feds behalf). Now, before you start screaming “conspiracy theory,” know that not only do we already have copies of these agreements, but we’re also sharing them with you.
