Until Citizens for a New Louisiana came along, Louisiana was missing a serious, conservative non-profit organization dedicated to public policy in local government that’s not tied to a special interest group. Over the last few years, we’ve grown to inform local residents on a wide array of conservative issue. While we’re pro-life, pro-gun, and pro-family, nearly every issue we’ve approached has sprung from the same root: a lack of transparency in local government.
Many of the issues we address were completely unknown to local residents. While we have gotten quite a bit of credit for making an impact in local policy, the truth is it’s the sunshine alone that has stirred many of you to become more involved.
As we turn the page into new chapter of Lafayette’s local government, we decided it’s time to reflect. Over the last twelve years, two men have been standing in the gap for Lafayette’s citizens. They have stood strong, and we think they deserve to be recognized.
So, please join Citizens For a New Louisiana at our first Celebrating Transparency in Government Banquet. We will be honoring William Theriot and Jared Bellard for their twelve years of dedication and consistency. The evening will also include special guest Mayor-President Josh Guillory. Our master of ceremonies for the evening will be Louisiana House Majority Leader Blake Miguez.
